Brief Description: Smooth gear, start on main spar
Deburred and smoothed edges of the landing gear, L01-10.
Started working on the inboard main spar, W16-01. Removed one rivet on the spar and updrilled the hole to 3/8 for the center seatbelt attachment. The drawing calls for an AN6-7A bolt which is too short (F03 view B-B). An AN6-13A would work better.
When the spar is in place, the main gear stiffener needs to be installed with rivets on the two legs of the stiffener. Only one leg has pre-machined holes. The rivet line on the undrilled leg will be 7/16" in from the edge of the lower aft flange of the spar (L01 section J-J). The hole spacing is the same as on the gear stiffener F08-11. I drew a line 7/16" in on the edge of the spar flange, centered F08-11 on the line, and drilled pilot holes in the spar flange. When F08-11 gets installed, I'll be able to use the spar flange pilot holes to drill into the undrilled leg of the gear stiffener. This seems easier than trying to drill the pilot holes with F08-11 and the spar in place.
Needed to slighty widen the forward flange cutouts in the side skins for the main spar to pass through and a little relief on the top flange area. Slid the spar in and trial fitted the root rib brackets W17-05/06. Still need to install the wing root ribs.
